For our first full analytical work, we'll be delving into what is arguably Poe's best known work and what was certainly his most successful commercial venture because it launched his career, his poem, "The Raven." Earning a princely sum of $9 for selling the poem, "The Raven" made Poe a household name and established his skill and style.


The poet would find ways to make more money throughout his life, but it was never enough - even if it was all lumped together - to exactly let him live lavishly.


As a really cool side note, to any who may doubt that a raven could be trained to speak, well, stranger things have happened.
