Volunteer Efforts

As educators and active members of our community, Mike and Dave seek to benefit and improve the areas in which we live. We have partnered with various organizations in the past, and at present, we cooperate with the Tyler Youth Group and Beaver County United, both of which are presently focused on youth outreach to provide opportunities to the young people of Beaver County. Below, you can find a - constantly evolving and semi-complete - list of our previous efforts in this direction. If you would like to volunteer with either of these wonderful organizations or suggest a project for us to work on in either Beaver or Lawrence Counties, please contact us. We look forward to working with you!

Tyler Community Youth Center

In desperate need of elbow grease and love after suffering some serious structural damage, the Tyler Community Youth Center (TCYC) project was the first of two clean-out days which saw collaboration of various organizations from across Western Pennsylvania. Our goal was to prepare the TCYC to reopen to help serve the young people of Aliquippa and the greater Beaver County area.

TCYC - Part 2

Our second trip out to the Tyler Community Youth Center saw nearly as much youth buy-in as the first, but we did get even greater community sponsorship than before. This time, we saw support from the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Beaver County Democratic Party amongst others. Though other organizations were contacted, these two groups either sent supplies, supporters, prizes for our volunteers, or some combination of these things. A big thank you to those partners to their commitment to the people of Aliquippa and Beaver County!

Beaver County United

Beaver County United (BCU), a local chapter of Pennsylvania United, has listened to the response from the communities of our county, and those communities have said: engage the youth! As such, as we move forward, we're looking for any outreach opportunities we can find, and we'd welcome any suggestions or additional volunteers we can get. We hope to see you at a meeting soon, so please contact us if you're interested, or check out BCU's Facebook page for more details from the organization directly!

Our next meeting is:

PFLAG Ambridge/Beaver County

Through the work of his wonderful wife and a dedicated small business owner in Ambridge, a team - that David is lucky enough to be a part of - has finally ESTABLISHED a local chapter of PFLAG in our corner of the world. Considering the times we find ourselves in, this is more necessary than ever! If you want to join our group, or if you need support, PLEASE reach out:
